![]() Not only does the process take long - TOO long, it blocks the tiles, production and happiness drop while increasing the Tech and Unit cost since you have to sustain the Colony in this state for over 12 Years to finish purification. And I can't see anywhere the boost to Units, only boost to energy Credit's despite of what planetary tile they stand on. Determined Exterminator text referred to purification giving Units, not Energy Credits. I saw this in my current playthrough with them. So my question really is, am I doing something wrong? Should I switch up my play-style and go for a wide game? Should I entirely abandon science and only learn stuff from debris? Or, is the purging empire just something I should never touch? I usually use Energy weapons as my first weapon type and have Hyperspace travel as my travel preference. I also play with the following settings:Īdvanced Neighbours and AI Starts are both off. As a result, my mineral and energy credit production is a bit stunted until later in the game, when I finally colonize a second planet and dedicate it entirely to minerals and energy credits (which opens the option to start building loads of mining stations for minerals). This way, I can research powerful weapons and shields for my Corvette and Cruiser swarm. To start, I'll explain my usual play-style as a Determined Exterminator I like playing tall, and investing heavily into Physics, Society, and Engineering sciences. So, after attempting several games as a Machine Intelligence empire with the "Determined Exterminator" civic, which all ultimately led to me being pummelled around year 40 or 50 by an upstart federation, I decided that it would be best if I asked others whether they knew any tips for being a purge empire. ![]() I realise that playing as a purging faction is entirely overrated and is an absolutely linear, and unsurprising play-style, but I wanted to set aside the Federation games that I keep playing, and instead try a purging game.
